About
Bonnie Qin is an emerging Meanjin / Brisbane based artist whose work explores sensory experience and connections between painting, drawing and photography in relation to illness, pain and explorations of identity.
Qin’s paintings have included cropped studies of textures and images with a focus on the narrowing into subjects in order to relate to certain aspects of them.
Qin’s current research involves invisible chronic pain and identity. The work aims to explore the multiple sensory experiences of a person dealing with these two ideas from a personal experience. The link between these two visually-loaded themes is explored in paintings and drawings.
